The type specimens of four taxa (Erebidae: Arctiinae) from southeastern Brazil described by Hulstaert in 1924 were discovered in the collection of Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Netherlands. Their current taxonomic status was evaluated by morphology and publicly available barcodes. Ecpantheria nigriloba Hulstaert, 1924 is a junior synonym of Oxyptera brasiliensis (Oberthür, 1881) revised synonym. A lectotype and two paralectotypes are designated for Ecpantheria brasiliensis Oberthür, 1881. Elysius cingulata ab deleta Hulstaert, 1924 and E. cingulata ab. pauper Hulstaert, 1924 are infrasubspecific forms of Elysius cingulatus (Walker, 1856). Elysius cingulatus demaculatus Spitz, 1930 is synonymized with Elysius cingulatus (Walker, 1856) revised status. A lectotype is designated for E. cingulatus (Walker, 1856). Idalus geertsi Hulstaert, 1924 is a junior synonym of Symphlebia indistincta (Rothschild, 1909) revised synonym. S. distincta (Rothschild, 1933) is also a junior synonym of Symphlebia indistincta (Rothschild, 1909) revised synonym.
