A new genus and species in the tribe Colpopterini, Aridorama cobbeni gen. et sp. nov., is described from the islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao in the Leeward Antilles. The novel taxon is found in arid biotopes and is polyphagous. Aridorama gen. nov. differs from other Colpopterini in the shape of the head and forewings, wing venation, male and female terminalia. Molecular data for the five-prime region of the cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) gene, 18S rRNA gene, and 28S rRNA gene are provided for the new taxon, and phylogenetic analysis was conducted to test the status of the new genus.
