Guernsey Centaury (Exaculum pusillum (Lam.) Caruel) has been found for the first time in The Netherlands. The species is declining at the northern limit of its European range. The morphology, nomenclature and ecology are discussed, as well as its phytosociological position, the possible origin of the species and its future in the Netherlands. Exaculum pusillum (Lam.) Caruel is in 2017, nieuw voor Nederland, aangetroffen langs een nieuw aangelegd ven in de voormalige landbouwenclave in natuurgebied De Plateaux-Hageven (Noord-Brabant). De soort komt voornamelijk voor in het westelijk Middellandse-Zeegebied en gaat achteruit in West-Europa, aan de noordrand van zijn areaal. De verspreiding, morfologie, naamgeving en ecologie van de Dwergdraadgentiaan worden besproken. Ook wordt ingegaan op de plantensociologische positie van deze soort, de mogelijke herkomst van de planten in De Plateaux en wordt een blik geworpen richting zijn toekomst in Nederland.
