With the sudden and unexpected death of the Editor in Chief, Professor C. Kalkman (see obituary on page 125), delay in the publication of the coming volumes of the Flora Malesiana is inevitable. Dr. H.P. Nooteboom (L) has kindly taken up Prof. Kalkman’s editorial task. Flora Malesiana Series I, Volume 14 will contain Myristicaceae (W.J.J.O. de Wilde), as planned, and perhaps the Caryophyllaceae (K. Larsen), depending on the ultimate size of the first family.
