A species of Stephensia with orange fruit-bodies, discovered in a garden at Drimmellen (prov. Noord-Brabant, Netherlands), August 1982, is described and classified as S. crocea Quél. This is a new addition to the mycoflora of the Netherlands. Pure cultures have been deposited in the collection of the ‘Centraalbureau voor Schimmelcultures’ at Baarn and registered as CBS 709.82. Stephensia shanori (Gilkey) Gilkey is regarded as a synonym.
