Herniaria glabra L. and Crassula tillaea Lester-Garland on public paths in the dunes near Bergen (province of Noord-Holland)

In May 1989 Herniaria glabra and Crassula tillaea were found in the dunes near Bergen on and along dry public paths. The species occur in a kind of vegetation showing little or no relationship with the vegetation-types for which they are considered characteristic in Dutch literature. Recently both species have also been found elsewhere in the Netherlands in habitats similar to those in the dunes near Bergen.
