A new spleenwort in the Netherlands: Asplenium fontanum (L.) Bernh

Two specimens of Asplenium fontanum were found on a quay-wall in the harbour of Amsterdam, the first record of this fern species for the Netherlands. A recent inventory of the vegetation of old walls and quays showed no less than 18 fern species for Amsterdam. The author draws attention to various measurements for the protection of the mural flora.
