Eleven species of Ceramiaceae are reported from the coast of the eastern Cape Province, South Africa, for the first time; five of these also represent new records for southern Africa as a whole. New details on reproductive morphology of Anotrichium furcellatum, Callithamniella capensis, Griffithsia subbiconica and Laurenciophila minima are presented. A key to the East Cape species of Callithamnion is provided.
