Some remarks about Australian Coleoptera

Notes from the Leyden Museum , Volume 8 - Issue 4 p. 222- 222
Chalcotaenia laeta Waterh. Mr. Waterhouse bestowed this name (Ann. Mag. of Nat. Hist. 5th ser. vol. VII (1881), p. 463) upon a species close to C. Australasiae Saund., and a few years afterwards (Ann. & Mag. of Nat. Hist. 5th ser. vol. XIII (1884), p. 371) he described under the same name a species allied to C. gigas Hope. For the latter I now propose the name C. Waterhousei. Chalcotaenia vittata Waterh. (Ann. & Mag. of Nat. Hist. 5th ser. vol. VII (1881), p. 462) is apparently = C. Salamandra Thoms. (Bull. Soc. Ent. de France (1879) p. CLVIII).
