Although the corals and reefs of Curaçao are fairly well known (VAN DER HORST 1927, Roos 1964, 1967), information about coral growth around the other islands of the Netherlands Antilles is still lacking. This paper offers the first comprehensive study of the reef corals of this area: Aruba, Curaçao (with Klein Curaçao), Bonaire (with Klein Bonaire), St. Martin, Saba and St. Eustatius. Due to practical reasons, however, the survey had to be restricted in several respects.
