On a classification of central Eruptions according to Gas Pressure of the Magma and Viscosity of the Lava

In the above title the word magma is used to signify the solution plus the gas disolved in it under pressure and the word lava for the magma that has partially or entirety lost its content of gas. A clear differentiation of the types of eruptions is not easy, because the character of an eruption depends upon a series of factors.
