About ten years ago Dr. J. H. VERNHOUT, at that time curator at the National Museum of Natural History at Leiden, gave a commentary on the present state of our knowledge about the “Land- & Freshwater-Molluscs of the Dutch West-Indian Islands” (Notes Leyden Museum, Vol. XXXVI, pag. 177—189, 1914). After summarising carefully the different species of every island in particular, he composed a survey in table-form representing their geographical distribution on other Antilles and on the continent.
