Polydesmus coriaceus Porat, 1871 was found for the first time in the western part of the Netherlands, in the ‘Poelbos’ near Goes in 2007 (province of Zeeland). This is the third confirmed record for this species in the Netherlands. Old records of P. coriaceus proved to belong to P. inconstans. One male was found between litter on the bottom of a dried up ditch in a deciduous forest on clay soil. The presence of P. coriaceus in the province of Zeeland in forests close to the Belgium border is briefly discussed.
