Pachyrhinus lethierryi, a new species of weevil for the Dutch fauna (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) Pachyrhinus lethierryi is reported for the first time from the Netherlands. Many specimens were collected from Chamaecyparus x leylandii on several localities in the province of Zeeland. This weevil seems to be established in our country. Pachyrhinus lethierryi originates from the mediterranean area and is currently expanding its range in Europe. The succesful spread to the north is most likely faciliated by transport of its food plants to and from garden centres and nurseries rather than the effect of global warming.
