Zweefvliegen van de Nederlandse Waddeneilanden (Diptera: Syrphidae)

An investigation of the hoverfly fauna of the Dutch Frisian islands was carried out between 1967 and 1983. A total number of 110 species has been found. For each species the earlier records from the literature are listed and new localities given together with the total number of specimens collected. A comparison is made with earlier investigations of the hoverfly fauna in dune areas in the Netherlands and with comparable surveys in Denmark and northern Germany (SchleswigHolstein).
